In Phnom Penh, Cambodia on June 21, 2010 9:00AM at the Meeting Hall of GDCE, a Bilateral Meeting between the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, headed by H.E. Dr. Pen Siman, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge of the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, and the General Administration of Customs of the People Republic of China, headed by H.E. LI Kenong, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of the P.R. China has been held to enhance cooperation in Customs matters including the prevention and combat of smugglings, drug trafficking and other offenses as well as trade facilitation.

Press Release March, 2010 on ASIA-EUROPE Forum

As Cambodia is a members of the ASIA-EUROPE Forum (ASEM), the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia - GDCE has participated in the “Joint Customs Operation DIABOLO II” or “DIABOLO II” in accordance with the decision made by ASEM Meeting held in Japan in 2007, 1st ASEM Working Group (AWG) Meeting in France in 2008, and 3rd AWG Meeting in Hungary in 2009. Member Countries involved in the project consists of 27 countries from Europe and 13 countries from ASIA and including ASEAN Secretariat and European Commission. The project was implemented from August till October 2009. The performance evaluation of the project was conducted in Japan in January 2010.

Customs-Private Sector Partnership Mechanism in Cambodia

On International Customs Day, January 26, 2010 in Phnom Penh, under the approval of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Customs-Private Sector Partnership Mechanism-CPPM was established for the first time in her history.

The official launch of CPPM was presided over by H.E Dr. Pen Siman, Delegate of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Director General of Customs and Excise and also the chairperson of CPPM. It was attended by Management Boards of the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia and representatives of private sectors including chairperson of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, Garment Manufacturing Association of Cambodia (GMAC), Small and Medium Enterprise Association, developer and investors of the Special Economic Zone, Transport Association, Freight Forwarder Association, some large taxpayers and high compliance traders.
