Bilateral Meeting between the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia and the Korea Customs Service.

In Phnom Penh, Cambodia on April 06, 2010: 9:00AM at the Meeting Hall of GDCE, a Bilateral Meeting between the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, headed by H.E. Dr. Pen Siman, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge of the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, and the Korea Customs Service, headed by Commissioner Mr. Youngsun Yoon has been held to enhance cooperation in Customs matters and keep sharing their experiences and information for advanced customs administration. This meeting is a part of the official 2-day visits of the delegate of the Korea Customs Service to Cambodia as well as the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia.

After presented about recent developments and achievements of each country, and according to the investments of Korea in Cambodia, trades volume between these countries are more increasing from day to day, both parties have signed and agreed the following understanding:

       1. The two Customs Authorities pledged to further enhance their cooperative                         relationship for the benefit of both sides.

        2. The two Customs Authorities consented to keep sharing their experiences and
           information on customs processes and informatization for advanced customs             administration

        3. According to the suggestions of the Cambodia Customs, the Korea Customs Service             will investigate and take measures the illegal involvement of exports to Cambodia.

       4. With the intention of easing clearance and customs bottlenecks, the Cambodia             Customs clarified that there is the Customs-Private Sector Partnership Mechanism             which has just been established mainly for resolving any customs-related issues,             including such difficulties with representatives of Korean companies in Cambodia.

        5. The second bilateral meeting will be held in the short future in Korea.

The first bilateral meeting was finished at 11:00AM by happiness and friendly.
